This is my journey in gardening and homesteading. I started with a few 4′ x 8′ raised beds filled with lettuce and herbs. That was about it for a few years. In 2013 I became more interested in gardening, and self-sufficiency, and almost a romantic interest how people survived off the land in the past. This led to a more substantial garden in my backyard, and I have been learning and growing and expanding ever since.
It is more than just growing food, though. It is a place of relaxation for me, even when I am sweaty and tired. It engages my mind and heart. I am always amazed at what a little seed can do if it is taken care of. All the instructions for life are waiting there, and it reaffirms my faith in God. The garden is a place to work and learn spiritual lessons, and it is no surprise that this is where He first put his people.
